TPP is for Real... Detroit.
Real Detroit Weekly's own Travis Wright recently sat down with some of us at TPP to discuss what it is we do, why we love doing it so much, and why we're so damned good at it (his words, not ours!).
So, it's on newstands now! Go pick yourself up a copy (it is free after all) and it will only be available in print until next Tuesday the 26th. Too lazy to go pick one up? Well, go check it out online HERE. Too lazy to do that? Come on... you're sitting at a computer already!
Thanks for the press, Travis. We owe you a beer.

The Beat Goes On
Here's your 2 week warning... Sept. 23rd TPP will be
filming a live set at Ferndale's Xhedos Cafe for
acoustic singer/songwriter Jimmy Atto. Jot it in
your calendars, post a myspace bulletin, leave a note
on your parent's fridge. See you there.
In other news... Having recently wrapped shooting on
their music video, "Someone to Keep Us Warm", The
Silent Years came knocking
on TPP's door. They asked for a cup of sugar (we said
"no"). Then they asked if we'd edit their incredible
footage into a magical music video (we said "yes!").
Wait until you see this thing. It's good...

TPP & THL
Saturday, June 10th, the world got its first glimpse of the awesome union of Test Pattern Pictures and The Hard Lessons.
The Magic Bag in Ferndale was home to the CD release show of THL's brand new EP, 'Wise Up'. This night also featured the premiere of a 6 minute teaser trailer for the TPP produced documentary being made about this amazing band. TPP's Kirk Vanderbeek has been trailing The Hard Lessons for months, on the road, in the van, through St. Louis, Cincinatti, New York, etc. and you know what? This is only the beginning.
If you were there for the show then we don't need to tell you how incredible the night was. For everyone else, go check out 'The Hard Lessons: this is rock & roll' trailer on our PORTFOLIO page, then visit www.thehardlessons.com for more rock.
As always, check back often for plenty of developments on this project.

FREE ELEMENT
TPP was on the scene again yesterday documenting Free Element's CD release show at The Magic Bag in Ferndale.
This WRIF-sponsored show was sold out and TPP got to be part of another fantastic concert.
That's our idea of a good night... |

BEGINNING OF THE END
Post-production on 'Beginning of Grief,' directed by Kevin Mattison, is getting closer and closer to completion.
Rough cuts are looking smoother by the day and Daniel Zott of 'The Great Fiction' is holed up somewhere in a dark recording booth creating a most beautiful score as we speak. |

WISE UP!
Class was in session yesterday and TPP was most definitely in attendance.
Our production crew was responsible for a 6 camera concert shoot for Detroit's own The Hard Lessons.
The show was amazing (largest crowd in the history of Small's Bar in
Hamtramck!) and we've got more than enough footage to prove it. Stay
tuned for clips... |
